We have two Methodist based links which people may like to explore.
The first one is the Interface website (http://www.theinterface.org.uk) . The Interface website offers visitors the
opportunity to explore contemporary issues from a faith-based
perspective. It is a discussion site which allows the interaction on issues of the day from a methodist viewpoint
Another Methodist website to which you may be interested in is http://www.lostinwonder.org.uk,
an on-line labyrinth that leads the traveller along a meditative path.
Through images, words and actions the site allows people to consider
their spiritual journeys and be inspired and challenged.

Tree Aid for Harvest Festival |

Monday, 07 August 2006 |

As part of the churches harvest festival celebrations on the 1st October, we are supporting Tree Aid
. Tree aid began in 1987 and attempts to help reverse
deforestation of the drylands of Africa. So far lines of trees
the length of the M25 have been planted with over 6 million seedlings
planted and many trees protected. Almost 35000 villagers from 870
communities have been trained in foresty, nursery management and soil
conservation.
The costs are quite small, but the effect huge
£15 pays for several watering cans
£25 for a bee hive
£50 will buy a water storage tank
£500 will pay for up to 300 mango trees.
Amongst the trees planted include the Shea tree from which money can be
earned by making and selling shea butter and the Neem tree which has
pesticidal properties and up to 40 medicinal properties and the
ubiqutious Acacia tree.
The Junior church will be fully involved in events to raise money for
this cause and of course many adults wil wish to join in. So watch out
for coming events.
As always the traditional Harvest produce collection will be organised and dontaed to the Padley center or a similar concern. |

As part of the centenary celebrations the children of the junior church were given the tasks to design new banners for the website. They were asked to draw on the banners things that the church meant to them. Hopefully as you peruse the website you will see various banners at random come up.
Thanks to all the children partaking in this and the junior church for letting me take some of there valuable time
